- How often
- A manicurist licence, and a manicurist/esthetician licence, is valid for two years from the date of issue.

- Fee
- An on-time renewal is $50. A renewal of a licence expired less than 18 months is $75. Expired 18 months to 3 years is $100. These are the Practitioner fees, the category that covers Specialty licences and so covers manicurists, and they apply to licences expiring on or after 1 September 2023.

- Continuing education
- TDLR's page states 4 hours of department-approved continuing education every two years to renew, including 1 hour of sanitation and 1 hour of human trafficking awareness, and 2 hours instead of 4 for anyone who has held a Texas licence for at least 15 years. SAID PLAINLY: that page is written for barbers and cosmetologists and does NOT state whether a specialty licence such as manicurist is covered. Call TDLR on (512) 463-6599 before relying on the 4 hours for your own licence.
