What you send us

Read a guide and you send us nothing personal: no form, no account, nothing you type. Page views are counted, and that is described further down. There are two places where you can send us information, posting a job and posting a job-seeker profile, and filling in either one is your choice.

Posting a job sends the job title, the business name, the city and state, the trade and the type of work, the pay, the description and the requirements, whether the work is remote, whether English is needed, whether the owner is Vietnamese, and a contact name, phone number and email address.

Posting your profile sends the name you choose to show, your city and state, your trade, your years of experience, when you can start, a short introduction, whether you hold a licence, whether you speak English, whether you can move for work, and your phone number and email address.

Both go into a queue and stay invisible until a person reads them and decides.

A published job listing is a public page. The contact name, phone number and email address you give are shown on it, and search engines can find it. Please do not put anything there you would not want a stranger to read.

A published profile works differently. Your phone number and email address never appear on a list page, only on your own profile page, and that page carries a marker asking search engines to keep it out of their results. The major ones respect that marker, but it is a request and not a lock.

If we do not publish what you sent, it is not deleted automatically. It stays in our review list until you ask us to take it down.

Sending either one also stores how you arrived: the domain name of the site that linked you here, never the full address you came from; the page you were on when you pressed send, without anything after the question mark; and any campaign tags still in that page's address. Each of those is cut off at 120 characters.

The search runs inside your browser, over a file it has already downloaded, so what you type is never sent to us as a search. What does reach the host is the address of the search page, and that address carries the words you typed.

This site is not meant for children. Please do not post a profile for anyone under 18.

Where it is kept

Submissions are stored in managed storage run by the same provider that hosts this site. Nothing is sold, nothing is passed to advertisers, and there are no ads on this site.

One other thing is stored. When something is sent, a counter is kept so that one sender cannot flood the queue. It holds a number and a start time, labelled with a code worked out from the sender's IP address rather than with the address itself, and it is no part of what you sent.

A submission can also be forwarded by email to the person who runs this site, through a dedicated email delivery service. Whether that forwarding is switched on or not, what you sent is read and published from a private review area on the site itself.

Counting visits, and cookies

Page views are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script that reports which page was opened, which page linked to it, and details of the browser such as its type, its operating system and the country it is in. Cloudflare states that it uses no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and does not identify readers by IP address or browser details. We see totals, never one reader. If your browser or an ad blocker stops the script, the site works exactly the same.

Cloudflare still receives your IP address in the course of serving the page, as any web host does. Their privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

The site sets one cookie for readers: it remembers which language you are reading in, and nothing else. A cookie is a small piece of data your browser keeps. A second one exists only for the owner's sign-in page.

Asking for a copy, or for it to be taken down

Write to us at hello@congdongnguoiviet.com. You can ask for a copy of what is stored about you, or ask us to take it down, at any time and without giving a reason. A job post or a profile comes down the same way, and any emailed copy is deleted with it.
