Required training hours
A 250-hour approved course of study. You must be 17 years old.

Fees
$40 for the application, plus $15 for each exam, meaning $15 for the written and $15 for the practical. Renewal is also $40.

What the exam covers
You must pass both the New York State written and practical examinations. Passed exam results are valid for five years only.
