Continuing education
Not required. The Board's FAQ answers the question in as many words: "No. The Board does not require continuing education credits to maintain a license." Taking classes is a choice, not a condition of renewal.

The five-year cliff
The Board cancels a licence that goes five years without renewal. A cancelled licence cannot be renewed at all: getting back to work means sitting the examination again. This is the line on the page that matters most, because a few months late costs $25 while five years costs the licence itself.
